Dr. Mausumi Syamal graduated with Distinction from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She then went on to earn her Masters in Engineering at the University of Michigan and worked as a Global Project Engineer for General Motors Corporation.
Following this, she spent a few months working and auditioning as a professional actress and singer in New York before earning her medical doctorate at Wayne State University’s School of Medicine in Detroit. In the midst of medical school she spent a summer with Stanford University’s Department of Bioengineering designing microfluidic biochips. She remained in Detroit for the completion of her residency in Otolaryngology with Henry Ford Health Systems. She then completed a Fellowship in Laryngology and Voice Disorders at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic Head & Neck Institute. Her interests within the field of Otolaryngology include laryngology, voice disorders, airway and professional voice surgery.
