If your health insurance plan requires a written or electronic referral from your primary care physician to see a specialist, such as an otolaryngologist, it is your responsibility to request that referral well in advance of your appointment.
Some primary care offices require 1-2 weeks to generate a referral. Please bring the written referral with you on the day of your visit.
If you do not bring your referral, or if we cannot obtain your referral electronically, you will be asked to pay for your visit or leave a check if a referral can be back dated. If this is not possible, we will reschedule your appointment for a more convenient time when you will have your referral.
